Life Center of Galax

Life Center of Galax is a rehabilitation center that treats men and women who are struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Life Center of Galax has been helping clients since 1973, and they offer on-site detoxification, residential rehab, a methadone maintenance program, an opiate dependency program, a young men�s program, a christain-focused program, military service, and outpatient options. They use a holistic focus and approach to build the foundation for a better life, and they focus on the whole person, not just the symptoms. Life Center of Galax uses a few different therapy methods including reality therapy, experiential therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), creative art therapy, equine therapy, family therapy, group and individual sessions, and recreational therapy. Life Center of Galax is accredited by CARF and accepts most major insurances including Tricare and Medicaid. Life Center of Galax houses over 100 clients in a residential area in West Galax. They are just minutes from museums, shopping, and the Chestnut Creek that runs through town. All rooms are shared with 2-3 people in each. They provide gender-specific dorms. On site, they have volleyball courts, basketball courts, and outdoor lounge areas. Clients are provided with 3 balanced nutritional meals a day. Life Center of Galax has a DUI and DWI program that use the 12-Step recovery process to educate clients on the reality of substance abuse and addictions. A typical length of stay is 30 days and can range between $7,500-$8,900. Life Center of Galax is affiliated with The Jason Foundation, which is committed to developing nationwide awareness and preventing youth suicide.
